Doug Bridgman Scholarship

Easter Seals New Brunswick is pleased to announce the creation of the Doug Bridgman Memorial Scholarship.

The Doug Bridgman Memorial Scholarship is in recognition of an advocate, spokesperson and avid believer in “Nothing about us without us.” Doug contributed for many years through both volunteering and work, when he took on a managerial position at the NB Equal Employment Opportunity Division.  He volunteered with disability organisations including the NB and Canadian Paraplegic Associations, Easter Seals Canada and Easter Seals NB. He also played and organised wheelchair basketball and rugby.  As an entrepreneur he started the first accessible taxi in Fredericton, which he playfully called the BAT Mobile. His dedication and commitment to equal opportunity and dignity for people with disabilities showed in every part of his life

The scholarship was developed to assist people living with a physical disability who want to attend post-secondary education. One student per year will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship. The candidate will be awarded the scholarship based on eligibility and the documents they submit on their behalf.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open only to students who have a physical disability.
